 Scanning

This is the second meeting interpretative reading. Our lecturer gave us an assignment, scanning. Scanning is a reading technique to be used when you want to find specific information quickly. In scanning you have a question in your mind and you read a passage only to find the answer, ignoring unrelated information.

Scanning might seem like a reading approach that yields less information, but scanning is an important first step in reading comprehension. Scanning prior to reading can help me understand the main points of the article.
